When it comes to upgrading your thermostat there are several to choose from, but we’ll try to break it down and make it a little simpler. We carry a full line of both Aprilaire and Honeywell Professional Series Thermostats. These professional series thermostats come with more features, better warranties, and are more reliable than the models available to the public through normal retail locations. Digital thermostats today with professional installation offer many features to help protect your equipment as well as keep your home more comfortable, and minimize your energy bills.

Heating and air conditioning costs are the #1 energy expense in most American homes. According to the US Department of Energy and the EPA, a programmable thermostat could possibly save you up to 30% on your energy bills, depending on your schedule and location. Having us install a programmable thermostat for you may be the single easiest way to get a more performance from and increase the efficiency of your heating and air conditioning system. Programmable thermostats have been required for commercial new construction for years and are becoming required in many residential new construction applications now as well. FYI programmable refers to being able to set the thermostat to be able to adjust automatically to different temperatures at different times of day and different schedules for different days of the week. This could allow you to say set one temperature for when you wake up, then another for while you are gone say during the day at work, then another for when you arrive back home, and another for going to sleep at night. Usually there are 4 different times to set during the day.

Deciding which features you need and want:
Things that need to be matched up in order to function properly: (We will take care of figuring out these parts for you but just so you have an idea what is involved…)
How many stages of heating? How many stages of cooling? What type of heating, conventional furnace or heat pump? What type of control voltage, line voltage or low voltage? Does it also need to control any additional Indoor Air Quality Products like filters, humidifiers, de-humidifiers, or zoning systems? Is there currently proper wiring in the location that you want the new thermostat installed in or do you need wireless options?

Which features do you want?
Do you want regular digital non-programmable, 5-1-1 / 5-2 programmable, or 7 day programmable? Do you want any additional timed air circulation features? Do you want an auto change over mode to switch between heat and cool with a minimum 3 degree spread? Do you want a LARGE DISPLAY? Do you want an outdoor temperature display? Do you want a portable climate control device? Do you want to be able to access your thermostat through the internet from your smart phone, tablet, or computer? Do you want a touch screen interface?
